Here's a great opportunity to buy one of the outstanding freelance films of the 1970's. Set in the Potteries area of the UK Steve has no interest in sport, he wants to be famous for something but as he says surely you can be famous for something other than sport! Apparently not, in his father's world success at sport is the only thing that matters and he makes no attempt to understand his artistically talented son. Director Roger Lambert was renowned for never pulling his punches and this is one gritty almost docu-drama. There are obviously influences from such movies as the Palme d'Or winning "IF" but "I Want To Be Famous" is a unique film portraying a truly misplaced childhood. The performances from Steve Bratt and Stuart Elliott are outstanding and this is a movie that will stay with you however many times you watch it. Running time is approximately 40 minutes and please note that the British Board of Censors gave this movie an "A" certificate back in the 1970's, it should not be purchased or viewed by anyone under 18.

Two brothers, Lloyd and Tony, run away from home to try to see their idol, the legendary soccer player George Best. They have no real ideal how to get to the match and even less money to get there. They set off with the usual sibling mutual dislike but soon find out, that when the going gets tough, you can always rely on your brother to get you out of a mess.

Set in the 1970's this is a truly special movie with terrific performances from real life brothers Steven and Kevin Arnold. This is one very definite "must have movie".
